Making Dreams Come True

Is it easy to make dreams come true? I guess it all depends on the dream. Some can happen relatively fast while others can take decades. What we need is to keep the dream and find ways to make it happen.

THE DREAM

For over 40 years I have been searching for a farm to create a space for healing. It has been a long search until this place came along. Several reasons made me decide for the place: 1) it is next to a mountain and far from cities or crowded places, 2) it has spring water, 3) people here are really nice & 4) it is a pretty safe place.

FASTING AND THE INITIAL PLAN

The idea of healing came from fasting experiences at the Buchinger Klinik in Germany but it was going to be a bit difficult to implement it here so the project, through the years had to adapt to when the moment was ripe to do it and the shape of the land. I have been a beekeeper for decades so I wanted to build something related to the hexagon. Besides researching about Buchminster Fuller and sacred geometry, I thought it was a great idea to build a sense of community just like the beehives. So, I drew options and they did not quite fitted the land options. Then, things started popping naturally and the project started to build up intuitively as we went along. The architect just helped us with the inner design of the geodesic domes. Then, all was done intuitivly and grew to what it has become. Things always change on the way as we relate to the land. At the beginning I thought of having nice gardens, but then, it felt better to have crops instead of gardens since many people from cities believe carrots come from trees, to say the least. Now we grow different crops around the domes, have food forests, and we are watching everything grow from scratch.

ADAPTING IN REAL TIME

Though the initial dream was one over 40 years ago, it has changed a bit, adapting to present day circumstances. While I was drawing on scratch the project, I came across a facebook post that sold geodesic domes & inmediately I knew I wanted that. Before I was considering building brick hexagon rooms, but this was more like what I had in mind. I didn’t know there was already someone selling that product here. Though they are pvc textile tents with stainless steel tubes that have a limited time before they wear off, it was the best and fastest option to get started. The actual inside design of the domes took a lot longer than setting the domes. Now we have 9 domes and a cabin because tents are useless, they destroy anything that is inside within months of having them up because of the heat, and not only that, they get old and moldy quite fast.

WHAT CLIENTS ARE ENJOYING MOST

Here, in Permasalud, the best attraction besides experiencing sleeping in a dome, is the swimmingpool area. We have waterfalls that give that natural sound that is so soothing and relaxing. People go the the pool, the jacuzzi and steam bath to relax and enjoy some time with a beautiful view of the mountain and surrounding nature. Walking to the river is another attraction, visiting the farm animals as well. Just being in nature has a powerful effect on mind & spirit. Most everyone leaves very renewed and relaxed, and if we all knew how important that is, we would cherrish these moments. So, mission accomplished.
