Activities to do on your way to Permasalud

If you travel from Quito or from the airport there are several turistic options on the way.

Stop at lake San Pablo for breakfast or lunch and enjoy the scenery of the lake
Visit the artesanal market in Otavalo where you will find beautiful textiles many handmade by natives
Visit Cotacachi, a beautiful small town where they sell amazing leather clothing and go to Cuicocha lake so you can enjoy more mountains, history and lakes. Cotacachi has a varied restaurant option as well because there is a great foregin community settled in this region.
In Atuntaqui, for instance, you can try the popular “fritadas” (fried pork) with corn, llapingachos & native dishes
You can also take a trip on train from Ibarra to visit the artesanal town of San Antonio

The scenery of the mountains & lakes is quite beautiful. From Quito it takes around 2h30 to get to Permasalud if you go directly. Otherwise you can travel early & visit some of these places. If you are simply ready to relax & recharge you can come directly to Permasalud. Our check in is from 14h00 to 18h00. Late arrivals on request & not beyond 20h00. This is due to the fact that the Community closes its main road at 21h00. Also, our cafeteria opens until 19h00 and we prepare by request our meals.
